Organisation
The DDIS organizational structure includes six divisions – three operational and three supporting divisions.
Intelligence
The Intelligence Division unifies most of the DDIS’ intelligence capabilities and has three main missions: build-up of knowledge, warning, and counter efforts. Through its wide array of capabilities, the intelligence division collects data and information that are processed and transformed into analyses and knowledge. Much of this knowledge forms the basis of the warnings that are part of the continuous reporting to the DDIS’ partners.
The Centre for Cyber Security
One of the missions of the Centre for Cyber Security (CFCS) is to bolster the cyber security posture in critical infrastructure sectors. To fulfil this aim, the CFCS provides guidance to Danish public authorities and private companies and monitoring of their network communications platforms in an effort to prevent sophisticated cyber attacks. Also, the CFCS serves as Denmark’s national information and technology (IT) security authority and telecom response authority.
Support to the Danish Defence
The mission of the Defence Division is to support the Danish Defence and NATO. Responsibilities include handling military security in areas that fall under the authority of the Danish Ministry of Defence, providing intelligence support for military operations, and supporting the Danish Defence in offensive and defensive cyber operations (Computer Network Operations, CNO) in connection with military operations.
Legal & Executive Support
The Legal & Executive Support Division handles the legal affairs of the DDIS and is also responsible for assisting the Board of Directors, coordinating tasks involving the Ministry of Defence, and handling media and communications as well as relations to the DDIS’ foreign cooperation partners.
Development, Resources and Internal Security
The duty of the Development, Resources and Internal Security Division is to provide support to the entire organization. Also, the division is in charge of a number of key staff functions, including HR, finance, and strategic management and development. In addition, the division is responsible for the DDIS’ internal security.
Data, IT & Advanced Technologies
The Data, IT & Advanced Technologies Division is tasked with developing and maintaining the DDIS’s data and technology infrastructure, and signal intelligence collection capabilities. In addition, the division is in charge of operations and development of IT systems and applications as well as internal IT security.
Most of DDIS’s employees are located in our buildings in Kastellet, on Amager and in Holsteinsgade in Østerbro.
